Heating Update
Updated 14th January 2025:
I hope this message finds you as well as possible. As you are aware, we did have some issues with the on site heating after returning from the Christmas break. The heating has been on constantly since the initial issue and the building is warm, however, unfortunately the boiler has tripped this morning. We have everything we need to perform the tasks needed for our daily routines, and the increased outside temperature is helping retain the warmth in the building. We are constantly reviewing the situation to ensure this is the case. Staff continue to have the discretion to allow students to wear their coats if needed in teaching spaces.
We will continue to work as hard as we can to resolve the issue with the boiler engineers and our Site Team, doing all we can to ensure that we do not have to temporarily close the site to students. We will update further in due course.
We appreciate this is far from ideal and thank you in advance for your support and understanding in this matter.
The Samworth Church Academy

You may be aware that we have had heating issues at the Samworth Church Academy this week.
We would like to reassure students, parents and carers that the heating in the Academy is on and working and the Academy will remain open.
Unfortunately, we did have an issue with heating on Monday 6th January 2025, which was fixed within a couple of hours that morning. Due to the outside temperatures, the building took a little longer than usual to warm up after being closed for the Christmas break. During this time, coats and jumpers were allowed and we ensured hot food was available at lunchtime.
Temperatures are now back up to acceptable levels within the Academy, and we thank students and staff for the resilience and commitment they have shown during the last few days.
