Just before half-term, the Samworth Church Academy was visited by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) outreach teams from BAE Systems, RAF and Royal Navy, who delivered an interactive session all about Artificial Intelligence.
Year 7 and 8 students were treated to an interactive performance on Artificial Intelligence, and how it is changing the world as we know it. Using AI platforms, students collectively designed a new song (about Shrek and his love of cheese), the music (think Queen with xylophones and trombones) and even a music video to go with it.
Some volunteers used instructions to guide Lexi - the incredible robot dog - to navigate around them. Lexi was able to talk and do some very cute dancing!
Students came away from the session with a fresh understanding of what AI is and how it can be applied in a fast-changing world.
Thank you to BAE Systems, RAF and Royal Navy for visiting the Samworth Church Academy and showing students how exciting STEM can be!
