Parent governor vacancy now open

In a Multi Academy Trust such as the Samworth Church Academy, we have a Governing Body who are responsible for a range of strategic matters to ensure the smooth and safe running of the academy. We currently have a vacancy for one parent governor. The term ‘parent’ relates to any person who has ‘parental responsibility’ as defined by the Children Act 1989. 

You don't need any formal qualifications to become a governor, and full support and training will be offered. 

Being a governor can be a really interesting and rewarding experience. The only qualities you need are:

• an interest in the education and wellbeing of our students;
• a willingness to ask questions and not be afraid to ask if you are unsure of anything;
• the time commitment to attend the meetings of the governing body (one meeting each half term); and
• a commitment to be part of a team, which, by working together, can make a real difference to the school.

You nomination must include:

• Nomination Form
• Declaration of Eligibility
• Signed agreement to the Governors Code of Conduct

Your nomination must be received at the academy by 10.00am on Monday 9th December 2024.
