Examination Board: OCR
A-level Art and Design provides students with opportunities to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures in practical, critical and contextual forms. This four-unit specification, two at AS level and two at A2, requires students to develop their ability to show a range of skills.
- In Year 12, the Personal Investigation begins in response to given starting points.
- The Personal investigation has two integrated elements: a portfolio of practical work and a related written study which explores the context in which their chosen practical area of study exists.
- In Year 13, students will respond to an externally set task with a range of themes, open to all specialisms. Each theme offers a choice of textual and visual starting points, briefs and stimuli.
