Welcome to Year 7 at Samworth Church Academy! You’re about to begin an exciting new chapter filled with discovery, learning, and personal growth. Your school timetable will become a valuable tool in navigating the weeks ahead—it’s your daily guide to where you should be and when. This timetable runs over two weeks, so you'll have different lessons and combinations depending on whether it’s Week 1 or Week 2.

How to read your timetable

  • Each day is divided into periods (labelled as P1, P2, etc.), beginning with an AM tutor/check-in from 8.30 to 9.00. After that, you'll move through five periods a day, labelled P1 to P5.
  • You'll see a range of subjects across your week - including English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Art and Technology and even Performing Arts!
  • Make sure to bring the right equipment: for PE check the day and location so you have your kit, and for Art and Technology you may need specific items too.
  • Your break is from 11.00 to 11.20, and lunch is from 12.20 to 12.50 - a great time to recharge before afternoon lessons.
  • You'll notice that some lessons appear more than once - like Maths and Science - because they're important core subjects. Others rotate across the fortnight. This helps to keep your learning balanced and varied.

Now, let's practice using a real year seven timetable with a few questions.

Year 7 practice timetable

What is the first subject on Monday and what time does it start?

Can you spot when this Year 7 has Science on Tuesday?

Which period on Wednesday do they have PE, and who is their teacher?

Take your time , read the timetable carefully, and remember: learning to read your timetable is the first step in feeling confident and prepared each day.
